Why We Beep
Keepin' things SAFE!!

We aren't trying to tell anyone what to do.  A response to something like this is highly personal.

As for us, however, it's simple. The presence of speed bumps says danger, big time!

The bumps tell us what the residents there want us to know, that cars pose an extreme threat to their neighborhood.

Its obvious to us that the residents would never have demanded such extreme measures if this weren't the case.

If it's urgently important for us to slow to a creepy, creepy little crawl when traveling along Hood Canal Drive through Cliffside we intend to be heard as well as seen for safety sake!

For us, beeping is an absolutely logical response. It's just a polite and friendly way of saying to our friends in Cliffside:

"Look out!  Beep Beep!  I'm coming through."
Oh Deer!!

Just a note here about Bambi.

We often see deer in North Kitsap County.  We all know that pavement is just like ice for them. When it's a smooth bump on pavement, it's even more hazardous for deer.

The Washington State Fish and Wildlife Department recommends that you use your horn to avoid hitting them as indicated in this article in the Central Kitsap Reporter.

Beep for Bambi, baby!!
