We're pleased that the news media has taken an interest in our bumpy little issue.
We think it's an interesting story. We're bombarded by national stories that draw all of our attention, yet when it comes to something that involves the privatization of our public thoroughfares and affects us in a very personal way, we don't often see such healthy news coverage.
My appreciation goes out to Derek Sheppard of the Kitsap Sun for reporting on this.
I also appreciate the work of Annie Tietje of the North Kitsap Herald who wrote about how the bumps are fueling complaints by Hansville residents.
We appreciate that they're neither "for us or against us." We really don't want the press to take sides.
If the editorial page writers want to take a stand, for or against these "traffic calming" techniques and they way they were handled here in Hansville, we hope they do.
In the meantime, my hats off to our local reporters for giving this some ink.
